The iRelief Project in Brief
iRelief Waqf Foundation (iRWF), also known as the iRelief Project, is an incorporated trustee registered in Nigeria with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC/IT/NO: 166886) on the 4th day of October, 2021. Our corporate headquarters is situated in Lagos with other branch offices across the Federal Republic of Nigeria. As a waqf-based, apolitical, and non-governmental organization, our primary objective is to foster the spiritual, educational, financial, cultural, and socio-economic development of people at the grassroots without infringing the fundamental principles of Shariah.
Adopting the waqf-based social entrepreneurship model, we raise funds in the form of cash waqf, invest them in low-risk Shariah-compliant investment schemes, and channel returns from the investment towards executing various community and social development projects. Additionally, we mobilize waqf land, waqf donations, zakat, sadaqah, and other forms of donations to achieve our noble objective.
