Dr Abdur-Razaq Isa Sarumi

Dr Abdur-Razaq Isa Sarumi is a Lecturer in the Department of Common and Islamic Law, Faculty of Law, Lagos State University, Ojo, and a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. He currently serves as the Legal Adviser to Dar al-Awqaf Foundation and is the Chairman of the Sharīʿah Compliance Board of Tawakkul Cooperative, Ilorin, a non-interest, investment and financing Sharīʿah-compliant cooperative society.

 

He is a Member of the Advisory Committee of Experts (ACE) of Norrenberger Investment Company, Abuja, where he contributes to Sharīʿah governance and ethical investment oversight.

Dr Sarumi holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Law (2019) and a Master of Comparative Law (MCL) degree (2015) from the International Islamic University Malaysia. He previously obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree in Islamic Law in 2010 from the prestigious al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt.

 

He has worked as a Research Assistant with the International Sharīʿah Research Academy for Islamic Finance (ISRA), an institution established by the Central Bank of Malaysia, and continues to provide professional research and advisory support to the Academy whenever his expertise is required.

 

Between 2015 and 2017, Dr Sarumi served as a Jurisprudence and Legal Theory Tutor in the Civil Law Department of the Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws (AIKOL), International Islamic University Malaysia. He is a professionally certified Mediator specialising in conflict resolution and trauma conciliation. In addition, he worked as a News Editor and Translator with the National News Agency of Malaysia (BERNAMA), within the Non-Aligned Movement News Network (NNN), from 2015 to 2018.

 

His research interests include Islamic finance, Islamic family law, comparative law, and waqf (Islamic endowment law)

Dr Yusuf Adeneye

Dr Yusuf Adeneye

He is a Member of the Advisory Committee of Experts (ACE) of Norrenberger Investment Company, Abuja, where he contributes to Sharīʿah governance and ethical investment oversight.

 

Dr Adeneye is a professionally qualified banker and accountant, holding the Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (ACIB), Nigeria, and is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) Australia. He is also an Associate Member of the Institute for Islamic Financial Professionals, Nigeria. His expertise spans financial stewardship, ethical leadership, and sustainable development, with a strong interest in initiatives that enhance community resilience, transparency, and long-term social impact.

 

As a board member, he supports sound policy formulation and accountable decision-making aligned with iRelief’s core values.
